CBC UP GRADERS REAP BIG IN THE RECENT TSC JOBS
The teachers service commission (TSC) has advertised vacancies for primary, Junior secondary and post primary. This is after the Kenya Kwanza government promised to employ 30,000 teachers to fill the teacher deficit that has been a challenge in the Kenyan schools.
The teacher service commission plans to employ teachers under the following categories
a) 9,000 teachers on Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service for Secondary School Teachers.
b) 1,000 teachers on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service for Primary School Teachers.
c) 21,550 teachers on Teacher Internship in Junior Secondary Schools.
d) 4,000 teachers for Internship in Primary Schools.
From the Circulars seen by Mwalimu Resources, the P1 teachers who underwent the teacher upgrade program will reap big as they will get 15 marks above their counterparts who have not upgraded yet. This seems to be a new way for TSC to make the P1 teachers who are yet to be employed by the commission to undergo the diploma program which was meant to make them more suitable for the new CBC curriculum that has been in place for six years now.
The scoring of the primary teacher interns will be as follows;
"During the selection exercise, each applicant shall be assigned a serial number..."the statement read in part. The commission further indicated that the candidates should present the following among other relevant documents
>National identity card
>TSC certificate
>Evidence of completion of upgrade diploma in teacher education
>PTE certificate
>KCPE, KCSE certificates or their equivalents including certificates of re sat exams
>Primary and secondary leaving certificates
> National council of persons with disability (where applicable)
>Sworn affidavit in cases where there is variance in names
